This works for those who want to manually adjust temperatures. It’s not programmable. If it’s high quality and paired with an efficient HVAC system, it will surely do a good job maintaining your preferred temperature. Next, we move on to programmable thermostats. These can be set to daily and nightly preferred temperatures and even weekday and weekend temperature preferences. You won’t need to mess with it more than once unless you’d like to change some of your original settings. While this is what type of thermostat some of us grew up with, some of us still haven’t figured out how to work the settings.

Let’s add the bells and whistles now! Using an app on your phone, you can set the thermostat using your home’s WiFi! This usually eliminates figuring out how to program your thermostat especially since apps are created to be user friendly and well designed. There are different apps though for different WiFi enabled thermostat products. Choose the one you find is easiest to use! We live in the age of smart technology. Smart thermostats have gained popularity, and we know why! In addition, these smart thermostats can pick up on your habits of coming and going using geofencing which eliminates your need to set up a heating and cooling schedule and increases efficiency. The main goal with the advent of smart thermostats is to increase efficiency to decrease energy usage, lower energy bills, and prolong the life of your HVAC system. They can accommodate small houses all the way to large, multi-room homes.
